Are we looking at the paintings? Or just the frames?

By setting up a fake art exhibition, this project aimed to challenge the human perception on art.

A fake art exhibition was held during 21/4/2019 – 23/4/2019. In this project, 6 landscape paintings were randomly selected from a variety of discarded and unwanted paintings from an art school. A new background story for the paintings was composed.

These paintings were claimed to be found in Yorkshire, Britain and they were supposedly painted in the 18th century. Visitors were ignorant about the truth. As both an artist and a curator, it was interesting to see to what extend I was able to increase the value of these paintings.
